The ups and downs of working out

It's been a while since my last entry, but that doesn't really mean I haven't been doing anything! It is now time to admit that I have failed my goal of running the 10k this weekend. I have a reasonable excuse with strain in my calf that has caused a considerable amount of pain whenever i run. HOWEVER, i really have been ensuring that I'm working out at least three times a week. As part of my job I am now finding myself in a number of different cities every day and anyone who uses the excuse that they don't have time to exercise because of work. This week I have clocked up 60 hours and to fit in the exercise I have been in the swimming pool at 6.30am twice! I'm sure this is not normal - but i have to admit - whilst I look like a miserable mole when i step into the pool - I feel so much better all day. I also feel vindicated when i have my nice big hotel breakfast. I am definately getting into the space where exercise is part of my life - but I'm sure that running is particularly inspiring - at least when I'm on my own. I'll never be a runner - it's too bloody boring. But at least I feel as though i can run for a bus. Next week, i'm heading off to New Zealand for three weeks and am looking forward to lots of walking - some up hill! When i get back from hols, i'll set some new goals and work with Oliver on working on my problem areas! This morning - that's my wobbly stomach. Have fun out there gym bunnies.
