Well, well. Registration has opened for the City to Surf and with the online countdown ticking by the second, I am excited. It's time to get Serious. (Note capital S indicating just how serious I am about to get.)
My running has taken a backseat these past months, as both my running partners have been unable to join me. Excuses, I know, but it's always harder to not run when you have organised to meet someone by the gate at midday. Sadly, one friend who had been running three times weekly was told by her neurologist that she has to stop running. We are going to cycle instead. (Well, I will also run of course.)
For the past month, I have been going to gym classes twice a week that incorporate repetitive weight lifting (pump, for example). I am curious as to whether the work I have been doing on my legs (squats) will have any impact on my running.
Oliver has suggested a running regime that mixes up three-minutes of fast pace with three-minutes of normal pace. I haven't done this yer, as I don't have a watch and I run on hilly tracks that are hard enough without increasing the pace! However, I am going to start doing this on the treadmill weekly for 30 minutes.
Stay posted.
